Spanish Music Festival Website

Interesting presentation on the first page of this Barcelona music festival site with the bands listed side by side in css styled text hyperlinks.

Weekly Roundup - web goodness

It's been a while since I've posted to the blog due to excess busyness so here's a roundup of some cool stuff that I've come across recently :-
  • blagg blogg - very funny blog of San Francisco based comedian (etc)
  • ssahn.com - Korean designer and photographer whose project involves taking photos of people with one eye covered up - much better than it sounds.
  • Meat Inspired Art - artist Victoria Reynolds does some very disturbing and compelling paintings of meat. I love it when an artist makes me see everyday things in a new way - via kottke
  • 20 Jazz Funk Greats - mp3 blog cluttered with interesting music.
  • Typedrawing - amazing online flash application that lets you draw with type. Be sure to try out the drawing.
  • The New Power Generation - interesting article on "hygrid" homes combining alternative and regular grid electricity.
  • Napolean Dynamite - official website of what I consider one of the funniest, quirky and most heart warming movies ever.
  • Camping - currently planning a camping trip to Amamoor State Forest - as the t-shirt says "Camping is In Tents"

Retail Alphabet Game

The Retail Alphabet Game tests just how much influence advertising has had over your subconscious. The game presents you with 26 alphabet letterforms, extracted from product and corporate logos and you are prompted to guess which company they belong to(they are all American but many are just as recognisable worldwide). It's unnerving just how easy it is to pick some of these and points out just penetrating a logo can be when repeated heavily across many types of media.
